Welcome, and congratulations on deciding to take part in the most exciting cycling sport around, Bicycle Moto Cross or better known as BMX.
Armadillo BMX is an American Bicycle Association Sanctioned track and follows all the rules and regulations laid out by that organization. After this, If you still have unanswered questions and you need an answer right away try the ABA Rule Book for a detailed explanation of the rules.
Before you get started there are a few things that you need to know and pay serious attention to.
You will need a bicycle - any type and size will do, but it is recommended that you start with one that has no more than a 20" wheel diameter.
Make sure that all of the bolts are tight - especially your axle bolts and stem bolts.
Remove all reflectors for safety purposes.
If you bike has a kickstand or axle pegs, they must be taken off.
You bike needs to have pads covering three required areas
covering the cross-bar of your handle bars
covering the handlebar (or gooseneck) stem
covering the top tube of your frame
You will need a number plate (you will be provided a temporary numberplate with your membership purchase)
You will need the following appropriate clothing and gear so that you may practice and race
Long Sleeve Shirt
Long Pants
A Full-Faced Helmet (Armadillo BMX has loaner helmets at the concession stand that can be used free of charge for first time riders)
Any enclosed shoe is sufficient, although flat bottom tennis type shoes are recommended and work best.
